Who’s down for a little birthday bash?

My birthday bash to be exact 🙂 In no better place than sunny Southern California. It was such a blast and I had the best time with the hubs. If you’re ever in the area, definitely check out some of these places. They will knock you socks off for sure.

Day 1: We started off making our way to Sequoia National Park. Can you PLEASE go here?? I’ve posted some pics before of this holy land. It is AWESOME. But then again, what national park isn’t, right? Kinda obsessed.

It’s always a tad bit scary driving on those crazy roads, but without a doubt worth it. We took a trail that led to Morro Rock. You can just go strait to Morro Rock if you’re not up for a little extra something. But let me tell you, the view is spectacular either way.

After we were done checking out the scenery and looking at some incredible sequoia trees, we made our way back to our campsite. Yes, you heard correctly, campsite. It’s not for everyone and I never really thought it would quite be for me, but it’s a lot of fun! You should try it sometime if you haven’t already. This is the night where I found out that cheese doodles and cabernet go fab together. Great combo. Luckily, we stopped at a nearby Subway and got a couple foot long sandwiches because there was not much around at all. Maybe we’ll get into cooking and more extensive camping trips one day, but for now I enjoy my one night of camping like this :).

Day 2: We drove awhile south to get to Palm Springs 🙂 I have ALWAYS wanted to go there and it definitely did not disappoint! The weather was pretty extreme though and I suggest you do not visit in the middle of the summer. We were lucky enough to just get there before it reached unbearable temperatures of 120. Yikes!

We stayed at this beautiful hotel and spa. It was quite lovely! We walked around town and had dinner at Lulu California Bistro, which was a great spot if you’re visiting. We had a pretty low key night and just hung around by the pool with some drinks and relaxed. I can’t wait to go back there and stay longer next time!

Day 3: On our way to Beverly Hills! This was a must and a huge part of my birthday trip because I am a HUGE Real Housewives fan. Guilty as charged! I wanted to eat at one of Lisa Vanderpump’s Restaurants so we decided on Villa Blanca  for lunch that day. What a scene over in Beverly Hills. Everyone is decked out in their best attire and everyone AND everything seems so “perfect” there. It’s a pretty amazing sight to see, but somewhat uncomfortable at the same time lol. I don’t know, you just have to see for yourself and dine out there and all.

After lunch we stopped in Hollywood and checked out that whole scene. I have been there prior, but my husband hadn’t so we made a few pit stops a long the way to our next destination 🙂 Next stop, Manhattan Beach!

Looks glorious doesn’t it? Manhattan Beach was STUNNING. The restaurants and the beaches were TOP NOTCH. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time because it can get quite crowded here. We ate at Brewco, which has a view of the ocean and is pretty delicious. Also check out The Strand House. They have an amazing menu and gorgeous view there.

My favorite part about being here was hanging out by the pier. There are so many surfers that you can just watch for hours and hours. The sunset is equally impressive 🙂

I loved my time in Southern Cali. It was a great way to end the big birthday! Looking forward to checking out many more places in the next 30 years ❤
